Transport

Mass Transit Railway (MTR)

MTR is a fast, efficient, and air-conditioned underground system. Apart from the Airport Express, the current system comprises comprises 6 lines - the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan, Island, Tung Chung, Tseung Kwan O and Disneyland Resort Lines. Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR)

East Rail is a fast, efficient, and air-conditioned train runs from Hung Hom in Kowloon (next to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University ) up to the border at Lo Wu. There are standard class or first class to choose from. Please visit www.kcr.com.hk for further information.

Taxi

Taxis are numerous and readily available. Red taxis serve Hong Kong Island and Kowloon ; green ones in the New Territories and blue taxis on Lantau Island . Pay (in Hong Kong dollars only), the fare shown on the meter, plus additional charge where applicable. There are surcharges for luggage and rides through tunnels.

Star Ferry

Hong Kong Tramways

A classic icon of Hong Kong are the old street trams running along a 13-km (10-mile) main line on North Hong Kong Island with a branch line to Happy Valley . Established about 100 years ago, the trams provide an old-fashioned travel experience and are the only double-decker tram fleet operating in the world. Take your children to the upper deck of the tram for the best views. They'll love the tram itself, and the fascinating, diverse views of a bustling metropolis. Peak Tram

Take the kids on a ride that is sure to thrill them and you! There's nothing in the world like the Peak Tram. Pulled by steel cables, the tram climbs 373 metres (about 1,200 feet). It's so steep that the buildings you pass look like they're leaning at a 45º angle! Whether you're going up or coming down, you'll love this trip. Open Top Buses

Central district has some of the world's finest architecture and a great way to see it is aboard the double-decker, open-top buses running between the Star Ferry Pier in Central to the Peak Tram Lower Terminus.
