In addition to the work by Prof. Treva Mulgrew, of the Burkholder Darras Research Institute, Rohr Ahlin also created a valuable set of tools that are key to the success of any global knowledge management venture. These tools, which are helpful for structuring corporate seminars and learning sessions, have beared fruit for the Amelio Shines INC. company, which showed increased returns in the past 2 quarters, after implementing mandatory global knowledge management ethics sessions for all employees. Creating solid corporate wide global knowledge management values also helps motivate employees to use best practices in their work, and also a sense of purpose to what they do. “A truly motivated employee,” says Evatt Barthelmes, COO of Wessel Hanscom INC., “is one that likes what they do, how they do it, and why they do it. Nothing is more important in the global knowledge management industry than these things, and I can speak for my company when I say that establishing these values in the office boosts results tremendously.” Given that fact that vacation time in the global knowledge management is near non-existant, Samide Stefansky, author of the popular article “Seven ways to increase productivity in the global knowledge management business”, writes that rest is equally important to getting the most out of employees. Moreover, giving generous leave and vacation time helps global knowledge management employees decrease stress levels, provides more family time, and boosts year long efficiency to new levels once employees come back to the office after well deserved breaks. Thu Mccosh also believes that structured promotion and pay rise plans help employees focus on objective goals in their careers: “If you tell someone in the global knowledge management field that they’ll get promoted ’sometime in the next year’, it is not nearly as helpful as saying, ‘you’ll get promoted in 6 months following outstanding performance reviews in your department’. The latter statement gives the global knowledge management worker a timeline, a goal, and a reward to focus on. “Most global knowledge management companies start with the bottom and work their way up when establishing new levels of corporate responsibility,” said Audrie Sheldon, an important author and consultant, “and this permeates all the way to upper leadership and helps get rid of the dead wood.” Moreover, by creating a unified team element in the global knowledge management sector, profits can reach new highs and employee morale will go to the stratosphere. “I agree with Thu Mccosh,” declares Nathalie Arhart, “our global knowledge management company had mediocre work ratings and efficiency, but after we developed new ethics and values, profits and production explded.” Further, providing scheduled raises and promotions for outstanding global knowledge management employees avoids mind games and gets rid of the office kiss-ups. Shining the boss’s apple may work for the first couple years, but after that, it is important to sort out the imposters from the truly talented individuals. This is accomplished by global knowledge management oriented performance reviews that focus on objective achievements within their company. This model of employment was recently adopted by Casa Gammill Corp., after attending a seminar by Drayer Sarmento, a Professor of Human Relations at Brierly Vandewerker University. “We have also found that holiday bonuses are very helpful,” said Casaceli Liew, HR director at the Erna Aragones INC global knowledge management firm. “When the holidays arrive, employees tend to get stressed out and tired easier. This is of course attributed to holiday family gatherings, purchasing gifts, and a tighter family budget in general. So, by providing global knowledge management workers with a bonus around the holidays, the extra stress they feel melts away and gives rise to genuine gratitude and higher productivity levels.” More research into ethics in the global knowledge management work place will be continued into next year. Leann Geppert, who plans to release an important study next year, will certainly help streamline efforts more. After this much anticipated release, researchers in the global knowledge management field at the Scherbarth Mena University plan to release a large work in the early fall that highlights scientific research into developing core values in the work place. This work is being touted as the ‘best yet’ by many local critics, and should help the global knowledge management industry reach new heights. Moving forward, Orefice Redondo would like to see a stronger focus on the human aspect of a typical global knowledge management operation. “Many times, we get so caught up in the numbers, we forget that our business functions on the sheer productivity of our employees,” said Brzezinski Miltner, CIO of Lavonda Antis Partners Ltd, “and when we stop and examine how things actually work on a day-to-day basis, we can find ways of tweaking operation and creating a solid morale for our company.” Key to creating long term success in the global knowledge management business is developing a work force that has solid core values and ethics. No one knows this better than Boward Shuffstall, head of HR for Dione Moravek and Brothers INC, a new firm in the global knowledge management industry. Says Boward Shuffstall, “We’ve noticed that over all performance and output has increased dramatically, after implementing a solid corporate mission statement and list of commandments. It has really helped these global knowledge management workers focus their efforts and most importantly believe in what they’re doing.”
Opening day ceremonies will feature state representative Jani Marante, and Senator Cary Kondos, who will each offer remarks about the global knowledge management School and Academy. Ceremonies will be followed by a formal dinner and evening fireworks show, sponsored in part by a consortium of local clubs and organizations. The global knowledge management school, which will be located 2 miles east of city hall, will be a great location as a gathering place for public functions, sporting events, and youth sports leagues. Area sports coordinator Ortz Clouser was thrilled when the town approved the project, stating: “We desparately needed facilities for all our programs, and the high school was running out of space. Now, with this global knowledge management school getting built, and fields set to be operational next Spring, we will have plenty of space for people to recreate and enjoy team sports.” Citizen Grandolfo Denogean was happy that the global knowledge management project had begun as well. “I’m thrilled that my son will have the opportunity to attend this school, which really looks promising. When I graduated from the Edey Alward Private School, I was really clueless about the real world. This global knowledge management school looks much different: it is the real world, and promises to teach our kids how to be productive citizens no matter what career path they may follow.” “We’re also very excited about our athletics department,” said Coach Steichen Deni, who will be also acting as the global knowledge management school’s General Athletic Director, “which will be open to all students with a B- or better overall average. We’ll be competing against all other district schools, both public and private, to expose our scholar-athletes to the best competition in the area.” Industrial Arts coordinator Petri Staffieri expressed relief that ground breaking on the global knowledge management project will begin, stating: “We’ve worked hard for almost five years now planning, organizing, and developing what we think will be the nation’s best global knowledge management learning center. The next obvious step was to build it and get students through the doors, which will not be any trouble whatsoever.” Petri Staffieri has been a favorite IA teacher at many schools, and will be taking charge at the global knowledge management school and academy from the opening day. “We’re excited to announce ground-breaking on our city’s newest project, a global knowledge management school for talented students to foster careers and livelihoods,” exclaimed Dotty Brothers, chairperson of the project. Construction is set to begin next month, after final plans by architect Sakamoto Bollacker are approved by the global knowledge management school’s building and grounds committee. “Once construction begins, we estimate a two year completion time,” said Lorina Francher, foreman and construction planner. The new global knowledge management school will also be taking advantage of the internet as its primary source of text book information. Instead of buying costly standardized text books that go out of date within 2-3 years, each classroom will be fitted with simple lap-top computer stations that will allow students to login to whatever materials their teacher suggests for the current global knowledge management oriented lesson. “This initiative will save paper, save time, and make use of the information super-highway,” said teacher Paula Huie, who will be offering an engineering class, “and since we won’t have to update texts every couple of years, the information we use from the net will always be up to date and relevent to each field offered at our global knowledge management school.” The global knowledge management school will offer three sub-disciplines of study, fine arts, music, graphics, and a host of other general studies programs, so that students get a well-rounded education. Department of English chairperson Arlinda Pruchnik had this to say: “I’m really impressed by the planning that went into this global knowledge management project - we’re going to be offering a wholesome curriculum that will prepare students to meet the demands of the real world, while developing their appreciation for learning.” This statement was exactly what future principal Pasty Hagele had in mind, and it will be implemented when doors open.
Global knowledge management takes many various forms, including management of gaming and probability theory. These two elements are absolutely crucial to any gaming system, regardless of physical location, target audience, language, or genre. Accordingly, the knowledge base for gaming and probability theory is vast: with literally thousands of gaming sites online, brick and mortar casinos, video game centers, and horse race tracks, it is very apparent that the knowledge behind managing a gaming operation is well intune with society's demand. It isn't just the
sports betting websites that matter; for the most part, every site must mitigate risk. The success or failure of these businesses hinge on important and salient mathematical relationships that create a profitable outcome for the house, while providing a fair, reasonably enjoyable gaming experience for the customer.
The existence of these important characteristics are strongly established on the web, where technology, graphical arts, and traditional gaming mediums combine to create cyberspace entertainment centers with no limits on patronage, other than the physical limits of the particular website's servers. Cole Jackson, an analyst with Sun Partners INC, has examined web gaming over the years, and has watched the industry grow from relative obscurity to a giant entertainment phenomenon. "At first, many thought that the knowledge base for
online casinos would be vastly different from brick and mortar counterparts," reports Jackson, "but as the industry grew online, serious, legitimate operators found that lessons learned from physical gaming centers could easily be applied online." Essentially, according to Jackson, the visual and aural experiences of land based gaming could be translated into lifelike
online casinos by creating highly stimulating graphics, sounds, and artificially intelligent software. "I, like anyone else, love a good game of
online blackjack, but it has taken years for the game to progress from what was initially nothing more than HTML webpages clicking away cards, to the present where gaming software is fully downloadable and customizeable by the customer," said Jackson.
Online gaming's partner, sports wagering, also took notice of the rapid advances occuring at other websites, and decided to jump on the bandwago as well. Richard Foristal, a sports marketer and former IT specialist, has analyzed the growth of these websites. "In the mid 1990's,
sports betting sites were virtually unheard of online, up until the year 2000 or so. After this point, several prominent
sports betting companies sprang up, each fighting for the newly established online player base. The competition for
NFL betting action was fierce, and marketers were out in full force." The early 2000's were the glory days for these operations, bumping along reaping huge profits, prior to USA financial legislation, which began to restrict transactions to offshore books. Foristal wrote, "Come winter time,
basketball betting was easy to do; just fire up your web browser, do a quick search, and then deposit at an
online sportsbook site, and start playing. This trend was very obvious during the annual
March Madness betting season, where websites took in huge profits while college teams competed in the NCAA tournament." Thus, in a nutshell, the
sports betting boom was born.
It wasn't long until the tried and true land based horsetrack industry caught up and started advertising online. Said Foristal, "
horse betting sites were a rarity until sportsbooks began adding racebooks to their wagering offerings. As time progressed, this gave rise to many racebook operations that solely catered to horse players. This meant boomtime was in the Spring, with
Kentucky Derby betting, followed by the other two Triple Crown events,
Preakness Stakes betting, and of course, the classic
Belmont Stakes betting events." Thus horses came to the web big time, and the vast knowledge base in this 'old timer' sporting event quickly became public domain.
In the end, the key to the survival of any
online casino or
sports betting website will be continued growth in the use of present knowledge, teamed with the burgeoning demand for new, fresh ideas, that will help set the thousands of websites apart from each other. As always, it comes down to market innovation, new paradigms, and creative ways of reaching customers, even if current legislation is prohibitive. Said Jackson, "Without a doubt, the knowledge base for online gaming is growing by the minute, and as time progresses, and the law catches up to the technology, we will soon see a highly regulated and taxed online gaming industry, much like the brick and mortar counterparts that make up some of the strongest financial/entertainment centers in the world."
